SUNDAY 17TH MAY 2015 Special Event Rosette

The day started off nice and sunny which allowed us to set up in an optimistic mood but it did get quite chilly in the afternoon.
We had quite a variety of stalls but the most popular one was the Assault Course for the children, although there was a problem to start with as the Road Show had to go and get another pump to blow it up.  A new stall this year was to try and win the bottle of whisky which had a very happy winner at the end of the afternoon.  We had been given some wonderful raffle prizes although I understand most people wanted to win either the cuddly hedgehog or the chocolate squirrel.  As usual our cake stall was also very popular and managed to break the record for the most money taken.
We were lucky enough to have the Warminster Brass Band playing for most of the afternoon together with the Ukulele Light Orchestra who played and sang some well known songs.  We have been the Warminster Brass Band chosen charity since 2008 and they perform at all our fetes and last year also performed at the Christmas Market.
The Hope Nature Centre Choir sang and Maketon signed 'What shall we do with the Druken Sailor, Kumbeya and the Pirate song' which the crowd really appreciated and the choir really enjoyed performing.
