TOM JAMES MBE [CHAIR]

Tom has served as Trowbridge Town mayor twice and Deputy Mayor 3 times. He has had 25 years experience of working in local government and has had a place on the board of a number of local and national organisations. He became a trustee 6 years ago and was made chair 5 years ago. Why Hope Nature Centre? Put simply, Tom knows a good project when he sees one!

PETER JACKSON [ VICE CHAIR]

Peter worked in many fields of mechanical, structural, aeronautical and naval engineering before starting his own design consultancy company specialising in commercial and roofing, cladding and architectural services. Peter has 4 children, the youngest having Down’s syndrome. Peter is a committee member of West Wilts Mencap and founder member of the Hope Nature Centre.

RUTH GERRISH

Ruth is a semi retired hairdresser who has run her own business for a number of years. She is also a member of the W.I and has served a President of her local branch. Ruth has spent time on various committees and has been involved in various volunteering roles. She is a qualified National Umpire for the English Bowls Umpires Association.

GIUSEPPE MELLILLO

Giuseppe is an IT Professional accountable for Technology Service and Support for Virgin and also a director of his own property development business. He has a wide range of skills including budgeting, people management, contract negotiation and commercial awareness. He has a keen interest in community engagement and has been a parish councillor.

TONY DURRANT

Tony joined the Royal Artillery after leaving school and worked in Defence, Radar and was a diving, scuba diving and swimming instructor and travelled extensively. He also became a professional entertainer as a bird, animal and sound impressionist and got his professional equity card at the age of 27. He has been involved in local issues for the last 25 years and is involved in fundraising for various charities.

VICKY ODY

Vicky is a chartered management accountant, who was introduced to the Centre through calling in after taking part in the weekly Southwick Country Parkrun.  She is involved in a number of local charities and spent two years in Munich as an au pair supporting a young man with severe learning difficulties.
